Elisabeth Claverie de Saint-Martin is the Director General for Research and Strategy and vice CEO at CIRAD (Agricultural Research Centre for International Cooperation).
Tasked with managing the Centre and steering the planning and execution of CIRAD’s strategic vision, Dr. Elisabeth Claverie de Saint-Martin has brought to the organisation a wealth of experience on extending and reinforcing cooperation with African countries. She was formerly Deputy Director for Sustainable Development at the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs, where she represented the Ministry in the Board of National Agencies. Prior to working for the Ministry, she held numerous positions in advisory and diplomatic roles. From 2013 to 2016, she was a Senior Advisor to the French Executive Director (ED) to The World Bank and The International Monetary Fund. In 2011 she was appointed to the French Embassy in Madrid as a Political Advisor and Correspondent for European Affairs, Security and Defense and G20 Affairs. She also worked as a French Liaison Diplomat for the Spanish Presidency of the Council in 2010 and, from 2005 to 2009, she was a Political Advisor and Correspondent for European Affairs and Security and Defense Affairs at the French Embassy in Warsaw.
Elisabeth holds a degree in Economics from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, Paris and a degree in political sciences and public management from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques – Sciences Po Paris.
